Senior Fitness
Group Fitness Program
Our fitness programs focus on seven elements of physical and mental fitness:
Musculoskeletal Training (strength, flexibility, core stability)
Cardiovascular and Endurance Training
Neuromotor Training (coordination, movement complexity, kinesthetic awareness)
Balance (posture, coordinated movements, fall prevention)
Mobility Training (walking and climbing, changing direction, posture)
Cognitive (sensory training, confidence, brain health)
Emotional/Social (engagement, having fun, group dynamics)
The initial exercise program offered by Engage is part of the standard care package at no cost to the facility. Residents can participate in two to three 30-minute classes per week that introduce the fundamentals of mental and physical fitness. The classes emphasize general fitness components of flexibility, strength, and endurance. Specific classes are designed for the three primary senior populations, independent living (IL), assisted living (AL), and memory care (MC).
